Why Does the Pack Sell Popcorn?
Popcorn sales are the pack’s primary income source, funding our yearly activities and awards like the Pinewood Derby, Blue & Gold Banquet, holiday parties, rank badges, belt loops, and more. Strong participation in popcorn sales allows us not to charge pack dues. This fundraiser is the most impactful way your Scout can contribute to the pack’s success. The Pack Committee sets a yearly sales goal based on the previous year’s budget and our expected growth.
In addition to supporting the pack, selling popcorn is an excellent opportunity for Scouts to practice their communication skills and manners. They learn how to interact with new people, gaining valuable social skills.
There are also exciting incentives for Scouts who participate. Rewards range from gift cards to camping gear and Legos, ensuring there’s something to motivate every Scout. Discussing these incentives with your Scout can help them set and achieve personal sales goals, teaching them the value of commitment and hard work.
