Race Format & Details
- Each Scout races at least twice (Double-Elimination Format).
- Each den races separately.
- Track: 4-lane track, with each Scout rotating lanes.
- Finals: The top 2 finishers from each den advance to the Pack Championship.
Prizes and Recognition
The Derby is about doing one’s best and having fun, so all child participants will be recognized. But that doesn’t mean our race winners won’t take home some shiny hardware. Awards will be given in areas of:
Pack Overall – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Each Den – 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

Check-in runs from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. No late entries!
Cars must pass the official race-day inspection (Pre-inspections do not qualify).
Scouts vote for Most Creative, Most Patriotic, Scout’s Favorite between 10:00-10:30 AM.

Vehicle Construction
Pack 317 provides an official Pinewood Derby™ kit to each Cub Scout. The Scout begins with a block of wood, four plastic wheels, and four nails for axles. The finished car must meet all requirements outlined in the Official Pinewood Derby™ Official Pinewood Derby™ Rules.
